A Very Merry Art Meets Jazz

Join us for Art Meets Jazz Night at The Barrymore Hotel, featuring live jazz sax music from Johnny Magnuson and vocalist Meredith Walker, and a full buffet and full bar catered by Waterworks Bar and Grill. The event will be hosted in the Riverwalk Room adjacent to Waterworks Bar and Grill Restaurant. Featuring the art of David and Pat Beebe.
La Esperanza Art Sale
Exhibit will be from December 3 through 17. We wanted to focus on children impacted by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, so proceeds will be donated to San Jorge Children’s Hospital, San Juan, PR.

The shows are at 3pm and 7pm (download the show poster here). General seating is $25, Patron seating is $40.
David and Pat Beebe along with other North Tampa Arts League artists will have their art on display and for sale in the USF Music Concert Hall in the south atrium during both shows and at intermission.
The USF Music Concert Hall (MUS 176) is located at 3755 USF Holly Dr on the Tampa Campus.

Pebeo Fantasy paints, Prism and Moon, self manipulate to create unique finishes. The variety of colors and the interesting textures that can be created is very exciting! These oil-based paints can be combined with other products such as acrylics, Pebeo Vitrail, or Pebeo Cerne Relief (used as a barrier for the Fantasy paints). Understanding Your Camera Controls with David Beebe

Attention avid photographers and those that want to learn more. Modern cameras are amazing and most of the time, they will give you excellent results even in full automatic mode. If you’ve ever wondered what all those other options are or how best to setup your camera to maximize your results, this workshop is for you. We will review the basics options and settings found on most cameras and then address specific questions about your individual camera as best as we can. With this class as a baseline, the Life Enrichment Center photography club will meet the third Wednesday each month, starting in April, for open discussions, demonstrations and workshops. We will select a field trip location for a separate day and review the results at the next meeting.

Pebeo Fantasy Paints - a demonstration

On the 2nd month of each quarter, the North Tampa Arts League meets at the Life Enrichment Center for a workshop This month Pat Beebe demonstrated her techniques for working with Pebeo Fantasy paints: Moon, Prisme and Vitrail. She painted an underwater scene in 1 hour that demonstrated how these self-manipulating paints work together to create interesting textures.
Here is the underwater scene after the 1 hour demo. It will need to dry overnight before the finishing touches can be added. It will then need to dry horizontally for a couple of weeks before it can be displayed vertically.

The ghosts of classic cars with their rusting metal and faded paint peak out from beneath piles of fallen leaves at Old Car City USA in northwestern Georgia. What started as a family owned car dealership in 1931 closed as a salvage yard in 1972. Now it is an outdoor museum of sorts offering up amazing dioramas of nature slowly reclaiming past automotive glory. David Beebe spent a full day wandering the 34 acres with over 6 miles of trails. During this Art Talk he will share with you his favorite 100 images of the 4000 vehicles that reside there. Art Talks are free and open to the public. Brown bag lunches are always welcome.
