Our first visit to Gatorland for the start of the 2011 wild bird nesting season in early March
The aligators in the lagoon provide proytection to the nests from predators
In return, the gators get to snack on the ocassional fledgling that falls out of its nest
The rookery is closest to the boardwalk's west side so morning light is best
By mid-March, most of the egrets are couring or sitting on eggs
